Anchored Bored Pile Shoring in Küçükçekmece: Aydın University Annex Building
We secured a deep excavation in clay with a bored pile wall supported by multiple rows of long prestressed ground anchors.
Project summary
We built the excavation support for Aydın University’s annex building in Küçükçekmece. The wall of 200 bored piles of Ø80 cm was supported row by row with prestressed ground anchors as the excavation went down: 800 anchors and 30,000 m of anchor drilling in total.
Part of the excavation was formed as a slope supported with soil nails and shotcrete.
Challenge: long anchors
The defining feature of the project was the long ground anchors installed in clay. We drilled the anchors with Casagrande C6 and Soilmec SM14 rigs and the bored piles with a Sany piling rig. The work was delivered on schedule.
