Geotechnical Equipment Fleet | Fen Zemin & İnşaat
Fen Zemin & İnşaat’s equipment fleet includes drilling, lifting, grouting and mixing equipment used for bored piling, micropiling, ground anchors, soil nailing and jet grouting.
In geotechnical construction, equipment selection affects much more than production speed. Pile diameter and depth, soil and rock conditions, working area, site access, headroom and the selected construction method all influence which machine is suitable for a project.
For this reason, Fen Zemin & İnşaat selects equipment according to the design requirements, ground conditions and actual constraints of the construction site.
Fen Zemin & İnşaat Equipment Fleet
Our geotechnical equipment fleet includes rotary bored piling rigs, compact multipurpose drilling rigs, a crawler crane and jet grouting pump and mixing systems.
These machines are not interchangeable alternatives.
Bored piling, micropiling, anchoring and jet grouting require different equipment configurations and supporting systems.
Bored Piling Rigs
Equipment selection for bored piling depends on both machine capacity and actual site conditions.
Pile diameter, target depth, soil and rock layers, casing requirements, drilling tools and working-platform conditions all need to be considered.
Fen Zemin & İnşaat operates Jintai SD28W and Sany SR285R rotary drilling rigs for bored piling applications.
Jintai SD28W Bored Piling Rig – 2013
The Jintai SD28W is one of the rotary drilling rigs used by Fen Zemin & İnşaat for bored piles and deep foundation works.
Depending on project conditions, it may be used for bored pile foundations, bored pile retaining systems and other rotary drilling applications.
Buckets, augers, core barrels and other drilling tools are selected according to the soil and rock encountered during drilling.
The technical capacity of the rig alone does not determine the pile diameter or depth that can be constructed on every project.
Kelly bar configuration, drilling tools, casing requirements, ground conditions and working space must be considered together.
Sany SR285R Bored Piling Rig – 2017
The Sany SR285R is one of the higher-capacity rotary bored piling rigs in the Fen Zemin & İnşaat equipment fleet.
The manufacturer’s SR285R technical brochure specifies a maximum rotary torque of 285 kNm, a maximum pile diameter of up to 2,300 mm, and a maximum drilling depth of 94/61 m, depending on the Kelly bar system.
These are manufacturer catalogue values.
The actual diameter and drilling depth achievable on a project depend on machine configuration, Kelly bar, drilling tools, ground conditions and site constraints.
How Is a Bored Piling Rig Selected?
The largest drilling rig is not automatically the best machine for every bored piling project.
Pile diameter and depth must be considered together with ground conditions, rock levels, working-platform capacity, site entrance dimensions, surrounding structures, headroom and casing requirements.
On restricted urban sites, the ability to safely mobilise, set up and move the rig can be just as important as its theoretical drilling capacity.
Fen Zemin & İnşaat therefore treats equipment selection as part of the construction methodology.
Sany SCC600E Crawler Crane – 2017
The Sany SCC600E is used for heavy lifting and supporting site operations.
According to the manufacturer’s technical documentation, the SCC600E has a maximum rated lifting capacity of 60 tonnes and a main boom configuration ranging from 13 to 52 metres.
On bored piling projects, a crawler crane may be used for lifting reinforcement cages, lowering long cages into boreholes, handling casing and supporting other heavy lifting operations.
Safe lifting capacity is not determined by nominal crane tonnage alone.
Load weight, working radius, boom configuration, ground-bearing conditions and crane setup must all be considered.
Micropile and Ground Anchor Drilling Rigs
Micropile and ground anchor construction requires different equipment from large rotary bored piling rigs.
Compact geotechnical drilling rigs can operate in more restricted areas, within excavations, near existing structures and at different drilling inclinations.
The Fen Zemin & İnşaat equipment fleet includes Casagrande C6 and Soilmec SM14 rigs for these applications.
Casagrande C6 Micropile and Ground Anchor Rig – 2017
The Casagrande C6 is a compact geotechnical drilling rig used for micropile and ground anchor drilling.
Depending on project requirements, it may also be considered for soil nailing and other specialised drilling operations.
For ground anchors, the drilling position and inclination must correspond to the approved design.
For micropiles, drilling depth, steel load-carrying element and grouting system must operate as one coordinated foundation system.
Soilmec SM14 Micropile and Ground Anchor Rig – 2013
The Soilmec SM14 is a multipurpose hydraulic drilling rig used by Fen Zemin & İnşaat for micropile and ground anchor applications.
Soilmec describes the SM14 as a multipurpose rig designed for micropiles, tie-backs, jet grouting, drainage and soil investigation.
Its mast articulation and range of rotary-head configurations allow the machine to adapt to different drilling geometries and ground conditions.
This versatility is particularly useful for anchoring within excavations and micropiling in restricted working areas.
Why Is Compact Equipment Important?
Geotechnical construction is not always carried out on large open sites.
Work may be required inside basements, on narrow plots, within deep excavations or close to neighbouring structures.
In these conditions, equipment width, headroom, mast movement, drilling inclination and space for handling rods and casing can directly affect constructability.
Fen Zemin & İnşaat therefore evaluates more than the total drilling quantity.
The way the machine enters, sets up and operates safely within the site is also part of the construction plan.
Jet Grouting Equipment
Jet grouting requires more than a drilling rig.
The cementitious grout must be prepared, kept homogeneous and delivered to the jetting system according to the specified production parameters.
The Fen Zemin & İnşaat jet grouting equipment group includes the Tecniwell TW400 high-pressure pump and Tecniwell TWM20 mixing system.
Tecniwell TW400 Jet Grouting Pump – 2014
The Tecniwell TW400 is used to deliver prepared grout to the jet grouting system under high pressure.
Jet grout column formation does not depend on pressure alone.
Flow rate, nozzle configuration, rod withdrawal speed, rotation, grout properties and soil conditions all influence the result.
For this reason, Fen Zemin & İnşaat does not use pressure alone as a measure of jet grouting quality.
Tecniwell TWM20 Jet Grouting Mixer – 2014
The Tecniwell TWM20 is used to prepare and maintain the cement-based grout mixture required for jet grouting operations.
Correct proportioning, homogeneous mixing and consistent supply are important throughout production.
The drilling rig, high-pressure pump and mixing system therefore operate as parts of the same production process.
How Does the Equipment Fleet Affect Project Capability?
A geotechnical contractor’s equipment fleet is not simply a list of machines.
The key issue is having equipment suited to different construction problems.
A bored piling project may require a high-capacity rotary drilling rig, while foundation strengthening inside an existing structure may require compact micropiling equipment.
A deep excavation may require an anchor rig working at controlled inclinations, while jet grouting requires high-pressure pumping and mixing systems.
Having different equipment groups allows projects to be evaluated according to their engineering and site requirements rather than forcing every project into the same construction method.
How Do Ground Conditions Affect Equipment Selection?
The same drilling machine does not perform identically in every type of ground.
Clay, silt, sand, gravel, fill, weathered rock and competent rock may require different drilling tools and construction methods.
For bored piling, the choice between buckets, augers or core barrels depends on the ground encountered.
Micropile and anchor drilling may require casing or different drilling systems.
In jet grouting, soil characteristics influence the selected production parameters.
Fen Zemin & İnşaat therefore evaluates equipment together with the ground investigation and actual field conditions.
Site Access, Mobilisation and Working Platforms
The fact that a machine is technically capable of carrying out a task does not mean it can operate on every site.
On urban projects, road width, site entrance dimensions, working platform, overhead services, neighbouring buildings and headroom can affect mobilisation.
Large rotary bored piling rigs and compact micropile or anchoring rigs have very different transportation, setup and working-space requirements.
Heavy tracked equipment also requires an appropriate working platform.
Fen Zemin & İnşaat evaluates access, setup and operating conditions before field production begins.
Equipment Fleet and Site Safety
Site organisation is an important part of safety when heavy geotechnical machinery is used.
Bored piling rigs and crawler cranes have significant operating weights and working envelopes.
Working platforms, site roads, lifting areas and safe operating distances should therefore be planned according to the selected equipment.
Fen Zemin & İnşaat considers equipment mobilisation and site layout as part of project planning.
